We have one shopping day left until the big new year celebrations begin! Its a difficult one, stores look obstacle courses, shoppers and staff alike are stressed and the only clothing to be found is too big or fresh out the 90s. So, to save you panicing I thought I would introduce you to one of the top trends of NYE14 but also a fashion stable for any partying in the new year – that, more importantly, can be round in nearly every store.
Tom Ford , Michael kors and Gucci were some of the premuium designers who introduced embellishments, inparticular sequins into there AW14 collections. This was later followed suit by a variety of highstreet brands so the good news there is you can find these jazzy sparkley items in most retailer’s!
One of this seasons favorites has to be this stunning gold jump suit by French Connection. Just wow wow wow wow! Granted, you need a lot of confidence to carry this 80s inspired number off but I promise it will pay off! You can pick this up from most French Connection stores or stockists.
For a more subtle look , opt a version of the classic LBD. This one from Hobbs is a great example. The sheer sleeves cover any unwanted areas if you are particularly conscious of your upper arms. The embelished sweetheart neckline will also help to emhance thoses curves, so its a great option for smaller busted ladies. The length just sits above the kneew , again a very classic and stylish length for any age. You will pick this up from most Hobbs stores or stockists.
I normally don’t deal with make up apart from dolling myself up, but thought the Chanel glitter pots (ILLUSION D’OMBRE) were worth a mention. These are fab and can instantly create some new year glamour. I use the mirifique, i.e black with major glitter, it looks great, doest crease and stays put. Everything you need to see in 2015. You will find thesr at any Chanel beauty counter (Boots, JohnLewis, Frasers, Selfridges etc).
Finally, I couldnt do a new year post without including some scrumptious designer accesories … a little weekness of mine. This Jimmy Choo matching set is just gorgeous and will set off any newyear combination brilliantly. The ombre look is bang on trend and the use of two colours means you can match this pair with a variety of outfits. You can pick these up directly from Jimmy Choo stores or stockists such as Harvey Nicholas.
May I wish you all a lovely New Year when it comes! Happy shopping!
