So , this morning i decided to brave the cold to explore the obligatory festive sales and hopefully grab some bargains. Overall I wasn’t 100% impressed with what the high street had to offer BUT I found a few fab pieces. Personally,  the sales are great for picking up pieces which you may have reluctantly purchased full price. To have a successful trip get out of your comfort zone and go for some items which ordinarily are out with your normal style.

So listening to my own advice that’s what I did!

I’m a classic girl at heart and love tailoring or sharp looks. Also as a stylist I know how  risky buying into textured pieces can be. It can enhance areas you don’t want to , highlight problem areas your conscious of or even create lumps and bumps which aren’t even there! Over all , to make my job a little easier I would ordinarily avoid items like these. However saying that, some cracking looks can be achieved by combining texture or by adding a small accent of it to a outfit. So I decided to go for it! Texture texture texture!

First purchase was a gorgeous slate grey skirt (Warehouse £25). The colour lends itself to a neutral pallete and the thick faux pony hair material just makes it stand out as a more premium looking piece. I  just know this will look great with boots, thick tights and a simple turtle neck jumper. A fab casual look for the colder months.

Secondly I picked up a steal, a loose fitting racer strap top in metallic (River Island £10). The foiled material means it can be worn both casually and for partying.Great with a pair of skinny jeans or leather look trousers for a last minute new year celebration.

The ever faithful Topshop was then explored. I was a little disappointed with there lack of party wear admittedly,  but picked up a beautiful woolly grey jumper (£15). This can be thrown on effortlessly but the glittering fabric ensuring you still made a great effort to get dressed despite the new-year hangover.

Finally I included my recently purchased Sophia Webster heels. Bought from netaporter for a fraction of the price these are my new faves! The pale blue ostrich feathers and brightly decorated heels make this pair lots of fun to wear …. or you can just stare at them adoringly like I have been doing.
